July Mileage

July included a 5K race and a half marathon, with the continuation of marathon training. I continued running with  Chicago Area Running Association for my weekly long run on Saturdays, but I had to cut some out due to being on vacation and my half marathon. I cut back weight lifting due to running outside more rather than the gym. I tried to add in squats a couple of days a week to strengthen my piriformis that has been causing me pain over recent months.

Mileage: 115.08

Average Pace: 8:40

2013 Mileage: 584.33

A Look Ahead: The month of August will increase my mileage with longer runs for marathon training. I will continue to foam roll and try to add kettle ball strengthening exercises. I plan to get my runs done outdoors since they are more miles and the treadmill and me aren’t friends after about 5 miles. Saturdays I will continue to run with CARA and I will meet Stacy downtown after work for Wednesday night runs.
